Alcohol misuse is prevalent in the adult population (18+) and, as yet there is no comprehensive model explaining problematic alcohol use. Past studies have examined attitudes, societal norms, perceptions of control, and drinking motives separately with mixed results. This study combines these elements to build a different model of alcohol use that may assist researchers and clinicians to develop improved treatment programs.
